"Quietly
striking" is how James Mills, Art Director
of the Denver Post, described artist Robin
Laws work. It is a theme that echoes through
the high plains of Northeastern Colorado where
she was born and raised. From the beginning,
in a two-room school in Woodrow, Colorado,
Robin has described her surroundings through
her artistic expression. The artist's style
has evolved through the years, benefited by
attending workshops, seminars, and classes
including the Scottsdale Artist School, the
Cowboy Artists of America, the Foothills Art
Center and others too numerous to list. Robin
has many awards, exhibitions, and shows to
her credit, including the Ducks Unlimited
Artist of the Year for the state of Colorado
and the Anna Hyatt Hunnington Award for sculpture.
Her work has been shown in such places as
the National Arts club and the Salmagundi
Club both, located in New York, the Cowboy
Artists of America in Kerrville, Texas, the
Museum of Western Art in Denver, Colorado,
the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum
in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Sculpture in the Park
in Loveland, Colorado and the Society of Western
Artists Exhibition in Oakland, California.
Robin is a full-time, professional artist
working out of her studio in rural Cheyenne,
Wyoming.
